I Don’t Know Where I Am Sleeping Next Week And I am Excited About It

Making Everyday A New Adventure

On May 17th,  I left Fort Lauderdale for the world. I got into my 2006 Toyota Corolla, put a goat on it backcountry put a goat on it and started driving north. My original plan was to head west to California but an incredible free conference put on by Wikipedia at New York Law School changed my course by a few thousand miles.

I firmly believe growth isn’t spurred unless you thrust yourself into uncomfortable situations. It has always been my dream to travel and backpack across the world but always thought it as a far fetched dream. I made so many excuses:

  • I’ll travel when I have money
  • I just started a new job after a year I’ll go travel
  • I need to find someone to join me on my adventures

Man Bump That Nonsense

Life is happening, it’s not waiting for us, we could be gone tomorrow. Rather than making excuses make things happen.

Nobody is going to look out for you better than you are going to look out for yourself

I Blame Steve Jobs

Watching Steve Jobs give his commencement speech at Stanford University in 2005 changed my life, and made me quit 2 jobs.

I took the challenge and posted the note on my bathroom wall.

If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?

Steve Jobs says if the answer is no too many days in a row, you must change something. Life is too short to be anything but happy.

Steve Jobs Last Day of My Life

Everyone asks me how am I doing this?

Some people that don’t know me ask me If I am rich because they think it’s what it takes to do this. Others have no faith and ask me what my backup plan is when I run out of money. As far as financials I am proud to not be in debt, no car payments, no student loans, no credit card debt and I have just over $3,000 saved up. Working virtually with eCommerce clients brings me about $500 a month, and my goal is to watch that grow into over $10,000 a month by providing superior customer service and delivering what I promise.

What I learned is you can’t have a backup plan. If you want to succeed you have a vision and you stick to it, you let go of your fear, worry and doubt and replace it with a clear path to success.

Digital Nomads, Permanent Travels (PT) or Location Independent Professionals (LIP) and Entrepreneurs are Abundant

I am definitely not the first one doing this and have been inspired by many. Companies like GitHub, and and their distrubted workplaces along with transparent culture inspired me to do more research.

The more you read about it the more you realize that it’s possible. I imagine a world where everyone is happy, doing what they love every single day of their life.

Since I left on the 17th, I have visited old friends in Orlando and my old Fraternity House, Phi Delta Theta, Falling Waters State Park the tallest waterfall in Florida, Amicalola Falls State Park the tallest cascading waterfall East of the Mississippi, a Hostel in Washington DC, my old college roommate in Brooklyn, camped in Shenandoah State Park with one of my best friends and the adventure continues.

I made myself a few promises.

  • Never go without internet connection for more than 12 hours
  • Steer and grow my clients businesses in a positive direction each week
  • Grow my company by providing the best fully managed eCommerce email marketing services
  • Go on a new adventure every day and enjoy life by doing what I want to do
